I think I can pull that off.  I'm going to try to get it done as fast as possible, too.  I'm getting my Christmas tree delivered next Saturday and my living room is currently the pigsty to end all pigsties.  Time must be set aside for cleaning.

I got the next chapter popped into my head while writing this one.  Might be starting it tomorrow night.  The next few days are obviously going to be odd for everyone because of the Thanksgiving holiday.  But I'm fairly confident I can crank out 17,000 in the next ten days.

I was busy most of the weekend. 

And I actually wrote twice as much today, but I have to go back and edit because I realized that I COMPLETELY miscalculated the age of two kids in the chapter in terms of how far along they'd be in the walking/talking/socializing fields.

So I have to go back and re-work the scene past the 336 mark to get it all to work right.

But I AM off work tomorrow.  So I can see writing happening.

So that's what happens when I put my mind to it.  4,217 words, one whole chapter, started at 1 or 2 pm, with a two-hour walk in the middle, and finished before 9.

Next chapter is one that's been on my mind since, oh, Thirteen Months Later.  Now I just have to make it work.  Because hopefully it's big.

Also, another landmark with this chapter.  With the exception of the back page, which I'm using to tally my word count for this month, I have filled my first official Fanfiction Notebook.  A 200-page composition notebook bought on clearance from Target for $.35, I started using it for all of my fanfiction notes on September 5th, 2006, when my LJ consisted of:

Fourteen months and one HELL of a lot of fic later, it's time to start up Fanfiction Notebook Volume Two.

I did those 254 at work between phone calls.  But I had a friend over for Guitar Hero, so I didn't get around to finishing it. 

I will say that, barring any unfortunate circumstances, this next chapter WILL be completed and posted tomorrow night, Thursday Nov 8th.  A couple thousand words will be written, and I'll have it posted in time to start the next chapter this weekend.

Internet's been giving me a lot of troubles since I got home tonight, so I wasn't able to do a lot of research between constant reboots.  Company tomorrow.  I should start catching up to my pace Thursday-Saturday, though.  This chapter's going to have to be split into two posts for the first time in a while, so the word count'll be considerably higher than it was for the previous chapter.
